Currently, due to the circulation of influenza viruses in 22 regions of the country, there is an increase in the incidence of SARS, in particular among children.

Taking into account the weekly monitoring data, it is expected that from January to April, the influenza virus will prevail over the coronavirus infection,” – the message says.

6,120 patients were hospitalized. Among those hospitalized – 2,607 children.

Doctors reported the death of 42 patients: 34 of them died from a coronavirus infection, eight from the flu. All the dead did not have the necessary vaccinations, the Ministry of Health says.

The Ministry reminds that the first manifestation of flu is a sudden increase in temperature, and other symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, sore throat) appear later. At the same time, the opposite is true with COVID-19 – it starts with respiratory symptoms.

We will remind you that in January, 9 cases of infection with a new subspecies of the Omicron coronavirus strain – JN.1 (“Jenny”) were registered.
