Two boys got lost during a walk in the Shevchenkiv district of Zaporizhzhia. One of them fell into the river and could not get out on his own for a long time.
Patrol officers organized a search and rescue operation, the press service of the Patrol Police of the Zaporizhzhia region reported.
In a comment for “UP. Life”, the senior inspector of the press service of the Department of Patrol Police of the Zaporizhzhia region, Kateryna Shevchenko, noted that the event happened during the curfew. The call came from 13-year-old Maksym, who fell into the water.
“The patrolmen carefully examined all the coastal areas, loudly calling the children, and at the same time maintained a telephone conversation with one of the boys. The situation was complicated by the fact that the temperature was freezing outside, in addition, the child did not orientate on the terrain at all, and his phone had a low charge.” , – said the patrolmen.
Later, they found an exhausted boy. He was up to his shoulders in water and could not move because he sank into the muddy bottom. The inspectors made their way to him through the dense thickets of reeds and rescued him.
“The patrolmen immediately changed the child into dry clothes, and the rescuers who came to help carried Maxim to the patrol car. Later, the law enforcement officers handed the child over to the medics.” – they say in the press service.
Comrade Maxim was found a little later. Serhiy was frozen and frightened, because he had wandered through thickets on the other side of the river for a long time. The inspectors also transferred him to a medical institution.
According to Kateryna Shevchenko, the boys are currently in a children’s hospital. Doctors say that there is no threat to their lives.
Both boys live in one of the villages of the Zaporizhia region. How they ended up in the regional center is currently unknown. The case was handed over to the juvenile police. There they decide the issue of bringing parents to justice.
