Ostap Brynskyi, an analyst of the charity fund “Patients of Ukraine” and a specialist in public procurement in the field of health care, was killed in the battle near Bakhmut in Donetsk region. On August 19, he came under mortar fire and received fatal shrapnel wounds, his wife, director of the Department for Personnel Development and Training of the Dobrobut Medical Network and ex-deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine (2019), Mladena Kachurets, reported. “He loved to live, knew how to notice something funny, ironic, beautiful even in everyday little things. My strongest support, my source of creativity and peace,” the woman wrote. She added that the man “was not born for war”, however, he had already served in the army for a year and 2 months.
