In response to journalist Serhiy Smalchuk’s remark, he said that he would speak as he wanted, and argued that the law on the state language does not mention the obligation of deputies to speak exclusively Ukrainian. “According to Article 10 of the Constitution, the state language is Ukrainian, and the state guarantees the freedom and development of other languages,” said Buzhanskyi. The discussion reached a dead end when the People’s Deputy began to argue that he was understood and yes, besides, most Ukrainians also speak Russian. However, according to the survey, the number of people who use Ukrainian in everyday life has increased by 8% over the past 4 years. About 58% of Ukrainians speak Ukrainian in everyday life.
