Russian singer, Honored Artist of Russia Yevgeny Kungurov died at the age of 41. Russian mass media specializing in operational news report that he could have committed suicide. The body was found in the performer’s apartment on Zoologicheskaya street near the center of Moscow, reports MK.
Kungurov is a baritone, a soloist of the Kaliningrad Musical Theater, a participant in Russian reality shows and the host of the “Romance of Romance” program on the “Kultura” TV channel. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, performed in the Russian National Orchestra, the Demonstration Orchestra of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In his solo career, he performed fragments of operas, Soviet pop songs, folk songs and romances.
In 2014, Kungurov performed in Moscow at a rally-concert on Red Square in honor of Russia’s annexation of Crimea. The song “Sevastopol Waltz” was performed before the exit of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After that, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Ingushetia.
In 2018, in Sevastopol, Kungurov opened with his performance the celebration of the anniversary of the annexation, to which Putin came.
