Every year, starting from 2013, the birth rate in Ukraine decreases by approximately 7%. From the beginning of a full-scale invasion – I was ready.

This was reported by the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service of Ukraine in a comment to “Ukrinform”.

The full-scale invasion led to the largest fertility crisis in Ukraine.

“In 2023, an average of about 16,100 babies were born each month. By comparison, before the full-scale invasion, the number of babies was between 21,000 and 23,000 per month.”– informed the Ministry of Health.

According to the National Health Service, in the electronic health care system in:

▲ In 2023, almost 177,000 births were recorded;

▲ In 2022, there were about 190 thousand of them;

▲ 2021 – almost 257 thousand.

At the same time, the service added that there is no data on how many Ukrainian women gave birth to children abroad after the start of the full-scale war.

Earlier we reported that according to the UN Population Fund, more than 36 million people live in Ukraine.
