“Techiya Foundation” NGO of Oleg Krot provided a soldier with prosthetic limbs – News

Representatives of the Defense Forces risk their safety, health and lives every day for the sake of protecting the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the civilian population. Ukrainian defenders may be provided with all the necessary weapons and ammunition, but this does not insure them against injuries on the battlefield. But even after severe injuries, military personnel can return to a full-fledged life and to service in the Armed Forces thanks to the support of volunteers and public organizations, which bear the costs of medical treatment, search for and provide prostheses, and cover all the costs of their installation.

Oleksandr, a military man who lost a leg and an arm in the war, was faced with the need for prosthetics.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the defense of Ukraine, initially in volunteer associations that patrolled the streets, guarded businesses and counted out enemy DRGs. And later he joined the Armed Forces. In his first months in the army, the man was sent to Bakhmut, and six months later he ended up in Dergachy, Kharkiv Region. During one of the combat missions, the soldier was seriously wounded. Oleksandr remembers that he did not immediately realize what had happened, and then he saw how his once healthy hand was holding on to a tendon.

“The feeling that every cell of your body is like on an electric chair. I couldn’t breathe, I was in a lot of pain…”, Oleksandr recalls a tragic moment in his life.

After all operations and recovery after surgical interventions, Oleksandr’s family faced a new question – where to make prosthetics. There are such opportunities abroad, but for comparison, an electric knee prosthesis in Germany costs up to seventy thousand dollars. Where can the average Ukrainian get such funds?

Oleksandr’s family was lucky to find the contacts of Oleh Krot’s “Techia Foundation” NGO. This public organization, in addition to the constant support of Ukrainian soldiers on the front line, providing them with clothes, products and equipment, takes care of military prosthetics. On the account of the NGO “Techia Foundation” there is not one story of the happy recovery of soldiers, but there are also cases when defenders returned to the front after prosthetics.

Now the military man Oleksandr is getting used to new limbs, adapting to the realities of life and hopes that in the coming years he will get used to prostheses and will not feel discomfort.

The work of Oleh Krot’s NGO “Techiya Foundation” in the direction of military prosthetics continues. The organization already provides support for the following wounded heroes, so that soldiers who take risks for the sake of protecting Ukraine and Ukrainians feel that they are not alone with their problems and that there are benefactors who will help in the most difficult moments of life.
