Actor-comedian and clown Sergey Gladkov died at the age of 60. He is known to the Russian audience as a performer of roles in the Ukrainian sketch show “Kalambur”, the program in the mid-90s and early 2000s was broadcast in prime time on the central channels of Russian television.
Gladkov was born in Kharkov, studied at the Odessa Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, took up clown art. He graduated from directing and pantomime courses, and in 1987 created the clown group “Foo Shop”. The group performed at Russian festivals and collaborated with the Odesa comedy show “Masks”, popular on Russian television in the early 90s.
Gladkov played several roles in “Kalambure” at once, the most famous being the image of Muzhik in the sketches of the “Village Fools” series. He is one of the screenwriters of “Derevna” and the cartoon series later filmed with the same characters.
