Director Greta Gerwig will lead the jury 77th Cannes Film Festivalwhich will be held on May 14-25, 2024.

Gerwig, 40, became the first American director to head the jury at the Cannes Film Festival. She also became the youngest head of the jury after Sophia Loren, who did it in 1966 at the age of 31. Additionally, the “Barbie” director is the second female director to hold the title, following Jane Campion in 2014.
