The names of Danyla Kozlovsky and Ksenia Rappoport were removed from the film’s credits

The names of actors Danyla Kozlovsky and Ksenia Rappoport disappeared from the credits of the film “Flying Ship”, in which they starred. This was reported by “Bulletin kinoprokatchika” after the premiere of the movie. Earlier, both artists condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine.

The film “The Flying Ship” is an adaptation of a Russian folk tale. The script of the film was largely inspired by the 1979 cartoon directed by Garry Bardin. Ksenia Rappoport played the role of a gypsy fortune teller in the film. Kozlovsky played several characters at once – Baba Yaga in several guises. At the same time, the media note, Kozlovsky is almost unrecognizable in Baba Yaga’s makeup, Rappoport’s appearance has also been changed with the help of computer graphics.

In February 2024, the producers of the fairy tale film announced that the release of the film was postponed for several weeks – the premiere was originally planned for March 7. They specified that filming had begun even before Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, and then they had to “replace several actors who criticized the special operation.”

• Because of his anti-war statements, Danyla Kozlovsky was demanded to be checked under articles about “discrediting the Russian army” and extremism. Kozlovsky contested the denunciation in court. Nevertheless, due to denunciations, the St. Petersburg Small Drama Theater, where Kozlovsky works, underwent unexpected inspections that revealed violations of sanitary rules. The theater was forced to cancel performances and close for some time. Kozlovsky announced that he is going on leave until the end of 2023 due to personal reasons.
• In February 2022, actress Ksenia Rappoport condemned Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. She also spoke out against political repression in the cultural sphere in Russia. Since then, performances with her participation in Russia have been repeatedly canceled.
