The prosecutor’s office referred the case of the head of the Ministry of Health of the temporarily occupied Crimea to the court

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol referred to the court an indictment regarding the Russian-appointed “Minister of Health” of the temporarily occupied peninsula. This was reported in the department. Investigators established that the accused provided medical equipment, treatment and vehicles to Russian soldiers fighting against Ukraine. “The head of the occupation department supports the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine in every possible way and adapts the work of the health care system to the needs of the Russian military,” the prosecutor’s office says. The agency noted that the “minister” held various positions in illegally created occupation authorities. In particular, he was the chief physician of the Sudak city hospital, and later – “the first deputy minister of health of the Republic of Crimea”. The actions of an official who works for the occupiers are qualified by the fact of collaborative activity (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The man faces up to 10 years in prison. It should be noted that the “Minister of Health” of the temporarily occupied Crimea is Kostyantyn Skorupskyi. In November 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine collected an evidence base on the criminal activity of the collaborator. According to the investigation, before the occupation of Crimea, Skorupskyi was the chief sanitary doctor of the cities of Feodosia and Sudak, and after the capture of the region, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the occupation administration. “There he received a passport of the Russian Federation and joined the Kremlin party “United Russia”, in which he was a “deputy of the Sudak City Council”, – the SBU reported.
