The search for extraterrestrial life will begin with the help of “biosignatures”: what it is and how it works

Scientists have developed ground-breaking software that can distinguish materials of different origins in the search for extraterrestrial life.
The program is able to detect “biosignatures“ other forms of life, reports The Guardian.
According to scientists from the Carnegie Institute of Science in Washington, if a UFO does not appear in front of the camera of the robotic lander, does not leave behind stains or fossils in the rocks, then computer “biosignatures” are the best opportunity to detect extraterrestrial life.
A biosignature is a substance or phenomenon that scientifically proves the existence of living organisms in the past or now.

Since biological living materials are composed of molecules with specific functions, non-living materials from the past must contain molecules that never existed.
To investigate this idea, scientists examined 134 different samples of living and non-living objects.
Using machine learning and mathematical modeling, they developed a computer program that can distinguish between chemical mixtures created by living organisms and mixtures created by reactions between sunlight and rocks.
The machine can identify three groups of samples: non-biological, living and fossil life forms.
During tests, the program showed 90% accuracy in detecting the difference between samples taken from living organisms (teeth and bones) and non-biological samples, in particular, meteorite particles.
Robert Hazen, an astrobiologist who participated in the development of the machine, noted that the program will help “revolutionize the search for extraterrestrial life and deepen understanding of the origin and chemistry of life on Earth“.
With the help of the latest program, researchers have to analyze materials from Mars, around which there are many opinions of scientists about whether they are evidence of the earliest life.
According to scientists, in the future the program will be able to distinguish different types of life, in particular, photosynthetic life, from other organisms.
Earlier we reported that the shriveled bodies of alleged aliens were shown in the Mexican parliament.
