The Ukrainian foreign passport took the 32nd position in the international ranking of the Passport Index. Ukrainians can travel without a visa or obtain one upon arrival in 148 countries.

This is stated on the Henley&Partners website.

“Ukraine is among the top 5 countries with the greatest improvement in the rating over the last 10 years (net total increase – by 21 positions). It has risen by two more positions over the past year“, the company noted.

Ukraine shares the 32nd position with Grenada and St. Lucia, located in the Caribbean Sea.

France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore and Spain share the first place. Citizens of these countries can move freely in 194 countries of the world.

The ranking of Russia has not changed much since 2017 – it occupies 51st place with access to 119 destinations.

The last place in the list is occupied by Afghanistan – people with a passport of this country can travel to only 28 countries.

The Henley&Partners Passport Index quarterly analyzes the visa regulations of 227 countries and territories of the world, dividing them by the number of visa-free entry countries. The rating based on data from the tourist information database has been compiled for more than 10 years.

The country’s position in the ranking depends on the number of countries that its citizens can enter without visas (in general, without a visa or with a visa upon arrival).

The passports of all these countries are biometric.

We remind you that there are several ratings of passports – they have their own criteria and distribution of countries.

So, for example, in the world rating of passports, Ukrainian foreign passports took 30th place in 2023. Thanks to the biometric document, citizens of Ukraine can visit 93 countries without visas.
