In the Kyiv region, an 18-year-old boy was charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
As reported by the police of the Kyiv region, a resident of the suburbs of the capital recently contacted the law enforcement officers. She reported that an unknown person raped her minor daughter.
The police established that an 18-year-old resident of the Kirovohrad region met the girl in a cafe. Later, they decided to go together to his acquaintance in the suburbs. There, the boy raped a minor.
As Yana Yermolenko, spokeswoman for the Kyiv region police, said in a comment for “UP.Zhyttia”, the crime was committed in the apartment of a friend of the accused – a 19-year-old resident of the village of Sofiivska Borshchagivka. In this apartment, law enforcement officers conducted a search and seized physical evidence.

Psychologists will work with the injured child. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The investigators announced that the defendant was suspected of rape of a minor under Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction provides up to 12 years of imprisonment.
