“This is what saved me”: in Dnipro, maternity patients were transferred to a shelter immediately after the start of the alarm

The patients of the Dnipro maternity hospital, which was hit by a Russian missile in the morning of December 29, were saved thanks to the fact that they went down to the shelter together with the doctors after the air alarm signal.

This was announced by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak.

According to him, 12 pregnant women and women in labor, as well as four newborns, were in the medical facility during the shelling.

As the head of the obstetrics department noted, staff with patients went down to the shelter as soon as the alarm sounded.

“This is what saved… The building has broken windows, broken ceilings. But all patients and medical staff are safe!” – the words of the woman are narrated in OVA.

In a comment to Suspilny, the head of the obstetric department, Iryna Kulbach, confirmed that there are no injured patients or babies.

“They are all at home now. I am sure that the maternity hospital will be operational in the near future, and new Ukrainian men and women will be born there“– added the doctor.

We will remind you that during the night and morning of December 29, Russia launched 158 missiles and drones over Ukraine. 114 of them were destroyed by the Ukrainian military.

As a result of the missile attack on the Dnipro, 6 people died, 28 were injured, including a child.
