In Lviv, doctors saved the life of a 14-year-old girl with critically low weight and bilateral pneumonia.
According to the doctors, it all started with a “banal virus”, reported the Children’s Medicine Center of the “Okhmatdyt” hospital.
“It all started with a banal virus that caused the girl to cough, suffocate, raise body temperature, and have pain in the chest on the left side.
At first, the girl was treated at home alone for four days, but relief did not come. Later, she turned to the doctors of the district hospital, from where she was referred to Lviv, to the Children’s Medicine Center.– Oleksandr Kolodiy, thoracic surgeon of “Okhmatdyt”, said in a comment for “UP.Zhyttia”.

Doctors note that the recovery process was complicated by a concomitant disease – anorexia. Against the background of psycho-emotional disorders, the teenage girl weighed only 36 kg.
The hospital added that the patient was admitted to the hospital in a moderate condition – for some time she was in intensive care on a special mixture.
At first, her condition was taken care of by pulmonologists, and only later by surgeons, who performed a series of necessary manipulations.
The doctors note that the prognosis for the girl’s recovery was optimistic.
Currently, the patient has already been discharged.
