President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on the creation of a monument park on the territory of the Mezhihirya residence, where fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych once lived. Draft Law No. 9354 envisages the creation of a monument of garden and park art of national importance for the protection of examples of park construction and nature. The document was returned to the parliament with the signature of the head of state on August 18, according to the website of the Verkhovna Rada. “Currently on the territory of the Mezhihirya government residence, excursions and mass recreation of the population are carried out, the funds for visits are not paid to the state budget, which is unacceptable in the conditions of martial law and a significant budget deficit, therefore the specified issue needs urgent resolution”, – it is said in the explanatory note. Also in “Mezhyhirya” there are objects that, in particular, are of interest to the security component in the conditions of martial law. Read also: Crying, laughing and fainting.
